Python and Tkinter on Windows

I'm currently taking a beginners course on line at KTH.se. I noticed too late that it was based on programming in Python; but programming is programming after all and it may impress someone ;).

Anyway. I'm trying to complete the final task and for a good grade I have to build a GUI using Tkinter. I found a tutorial but I've been going mad for the last hour or so.

Python has kept saying "ImportError: No module named Tkinter". No matter what i did.

Finally I found the solution. For some reason (that makes no sense at all) it is case sensitive and only lower case letters should be used in the windows enviroment.

Thus the "import Tkinter" is wrong. It should be "import tkinter" without the capital T.

My son Melvin

I just noticed that I haven't posted anything here about my son.

Well, he's named Melvin and he is almost five months old. There's a pictue of him as a new born on http://www.jonny.nu/melvin

Weblog Updates

A few days ago I launched my latest web project called Weblog Updates at http://www.weblogupdates.com/.

This is still in some kind of beta test mode but it seems to work beautifully. Maybe the web design isn't that beautiful, but I'll continue working on that.

What it does is it publishes a list of recently updated blogs (or weblogs as they were once called). The sources of information are the blogs themselfs, pinging weblogupdates.com.

Have a look ;)

Fever

By the end of Janary my daughter got sick. She had some kind of cold and high fever for about a week. And I caught it too.

It was really terrible. Well there are probably blogs from people losing arms or legs or dying from cancer, but still this was terrible to me and my references. It's been almost a decaded since I had a fever last time. It wasn't pleasant then and it sure as **** wasn't pleasant now.

But it didn't take more than a week for my child to get some new illness and another fever. I've spent most of the last two days at home, clibming the walls.

Well, it's time for a late night snack and then off to bed I guess. There's work to be done tomorrow and I'm actually eager to get to work.

One week

It's already a week since I last wrote. Time really flies.

I was back to work but had to take thursday and friday off since the day care was closed due to planning.

All that free time wasn't that free. Yrla, my daughter, needs a lot of attention. But finally I finished reading and reviewing a book today.

I've read "murder.net" (mord.net). It's a book in Swedish and I know one of the novelists behind it. It's his first published novel and it was great. I reviewed in Swedish at zetterstrom.net.

Now we're off to Mc Donalds for lunch.
